Women are disproportionately impacted by drug and alcohol abuse when compared to their male counterparts. Seeking help for addiction is difficult for many women, for the fear of judgement, being weak, and not understanding the severity of one’s substance use disorder.
Here at Harbor Village we understand navigating a substance use disorder is incredibly difficult on one’s own. Our rehabilitation programs are not exclusive to women, but are designed to tackle addiction from the roots. Effective drug and alcohol rehabilitation addresses underlying traumas, mental health disorders, and environmental factors contributing to one’s substance use disorder.
Our rehabilitation facility offers the full spectrum of treatment including:
Each of our treatment modalities are evidence-based, which means they’re proven to be effective in long-term recovery. We specialize in helping women recover from trauma including but not limited to sexual abuse, domestic violence, and self-harm.
Clients can expect to participate in one-on-one therapy in addition to daily group therapy. Throughout treatment women learn to change addictive behaviors, transform negative thought patterns, and respond mindfully to stressful situations.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) gets to the root of addiction and helps clients understand the underlying causes of their disorder. Throughout treatment clients learn how to respond to negative emotional stimulus without depending on addictive substances.
The 12-step treatment approach gives clients the opportunity to connect with their higher power to achieve sobriety. Our 12-step programs are evidence-based and are augmented with psychotherapy for long-lasting sobriety.
Our programs also include recreational therapy techniques. We believe recovery is holistic. Recreational therapy is proven to augment one’s quality of life and enrich the recovery experience. Further, recreational therapy will expose you to new hobbies and foster creative enthusiasm.
When you enroll into treatment with Harbor Village you will begin our medical detox program. All clients are required to go through detox before continuing onto residential treatment. During this process you will experience the process of withdrawal in our safe, medically monitored facility for five to ten days on average. Our clinical staff is on-call around the clock to keep you as comfortable as possible. Detoxification is the body’s way of naturally ridding your system of addictive substances.
After detox, we recommend inpatient treatment programs. Our treatment programs are typically between 30, 60, or 90 day intervals. Some may require more treatment. During the course of residential rehabilitation clients undergo intensive, one-on-one therapy and group therapy. Clients learn to overcome addictive thought patterns and behaviors while addressing underlying trauma. Those who put their best foot forward in inpatient recovery solidify a strong foundation in recovery for long-term sobriety.
For those who are unable to make a 24 hour commitment to living in our treatment facility, our partial hospitalization program allows clients to attend treatment each day throughout the week for all-day sessions. Clients return home in the evenings.
We encourage clients to complete either intensive or regular outpatient rehabilitation to help them reacclimate into living outside of a treatment center. During recovery clients meet with treatment specialists one to three times a week, depending on their individualized treatment plan. Outpatient recovery is the last step to solidify a solid footing to staying sober in the real world.
No matter which of our treatment programs is right for you, we can get you the help you need to live a happy, productive and sober life.
