I have been 10 months alcohol free since leaving Harbor Village, this not a fake review, I stayed there a little over a month an although I was extremely home-sick the first two-weeks I stuck it out and I am glad I did. I had been to two other facilities before HV and neither worked for me, HV was intensive inpatient treatment on a daily basis, which can be annoying at times, especially when your tired from a long day of group sessions. I had no problem with food and eventually was able to have a private room in the house because of seniority, I meet a lot of nice people, techs like Steve and Mr. Terry helped me feel as normal as possible being so far away from home. We had fun excursions on the weekend, such as go-carts, tour of the everglades, and the beach and movie trips. Worked for me and maybe it will for you too!
I was in Harbor Village in March 2017 and left in April 2017. This place changed my life. I’m happy to say that I’ve clean and sober for 17 months. God brought me to this place a very broken woman. I am a strong, independent, and confident woman today and it’s all because of the Father Almighty and Harbor Village.
I learned to be myself, and believed that only I can shape my life. The self-awakening is all I was looking for, and the staff of Harbor Village made it a reality for me. Good words, exercises and activities helped me forget my addiction with drugs.
I was scared at the beginning about what kind of environment will I have to live in. I’m an introvert so basically don’t interact with people a lot. That changed a lot during my detox period at the Harbor Village. Therapists attentively worked on my social skills and encouraged me a lot during each stage of my therapy. I feel more confident and energetic than before I came here at their facility. Harbor village was a right decision and I’m proud of it. They offer a lot at a very reasonable price.
I was dealing with a lot of issues when I came to Harbor Village and getting over my addiction use to seem impossible to me. But thanks to their treatment plans and the kind and nurturing attitude of their staff members I was able to develop the tools necessary to overcome my addiction. I wholeheartedly took part in all of the activities that were held at the facility and I think that helped me gain my confidence and self-esteem. There were a lot of fun and exciting things to do and I enjoyed all of them. My parents believe that a better version of me came back from the facility, the person they say that they knew before my addiction and I’m proud of that. Thank you for your help!
I just want start by saying I have been to detoxes and rehabs all over the country and I have never experienced a place that cares more about their patients than Harbor Village. They are very nice and genuinely there to help in any way they can. They have tons of activities to help occupy your time and they actually helped me work through the issues that I have been struggling with for a long time. Mike Boland is the director of the program and he would take time out of his busy schedule to sit down and listen to the clients and listen to our feedback. I would recommend this place to anyone with a drug or alcohol problem.
At Harbor Village I learned more how to love myself than I have anywhere else before. During treatment I was able to rectify many of my inner demons through treatment, which allowed me to really access why it was that I was using. I don’t know where I would be today without going to treatment. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. My journey is far from over, but it was because of Harbor Village that I am ready to face whatever comes my way, without relying on drugs. I learned how to meditate and channel every negative feeling in positive ways- something I’ve never been able to do on my own, until now. There were several therapy groups that I participated in everyday, including group, relapse prevention, gender group, and life coaching. My treatment involved getting active again, and rediscovering the things I love. Through therapy I was able to reclaim the bits and pieces of myself I thought I lost.
I owe my sobriety to Harbor Village. Today I picked up my 1 year chip. The staff here, cares about you so much that they motivate me to want to finish the program and stay clean. I met a lot of great people that I regularly stay in touch with now and they are all still sober. I was in therapy with my therapist one on one, with my family involved, and I really was given tools that I believe are the only reason I’m sober today. During our downtime I was able to relax, read, and really reflect on everything. The outings were really fun and I got to experience stuff sober and learn how great life can be even when you’re sober. I want to thank the case managers nurses therapists and everyone else involved in helping me get into treatment and finish the program. I know it’s hard for a lot of people to stop and think what part they play in their process, but I’m glad I have a support to stick it out. I am still sober and couldn’t be more proud. –update 2018 I am proud to say that I am still sober. It was such a life changing experience that I really owe my life to!!!
My experience with Harbor Village was superb! The staff was welcoming and friendly, and all of their therapeutic programs were just what I needed and really helped me adapt a sober life. I actually miss all the recreational activities that the facility had to offer and I think those were a great help for all the clients struggling with their addictions. Besides that, I got to learn a lot of different skills from basic money saving and management techniques to cooking and arts, the whole experience was really what I needed. I would definitely recommend this facility to all the people who want to change their lives and want to learn a lot during that process. I want to sincerely thank Taly, my case manager, who was always there for me, especially when I wanted to leave AMA. She made sense to me and reminded me of why I came here in the first place. If it wasn’t for her, I do not know if I would be able to say that I am not clean and sober! In fact, all of the staff was truly kind to me including nursing, kitchen staff and BHTs. I made some great friends and am proud to be part of the Harbor Village family. Thank you all!
I’ve had been dealing with alcohol dependency for years before I arrived at harbor village and to say the truth, I wasn’t sure if it was going to work. I had heard good remarks about the facility from a friend of mine so I took a decision to take a shot. I’m thankful that I’m a sober person now. I’ve become a functional individual whose back to living a normal life. If it wasn’t for the caring and attentive staff at harbor village, I wouldn’t have recovered the way I have now. It was a great experience overall considering they offer awesome food, great indoor and outdoor environment and a number of recreational activities which all add up to make you feel like you’re on a vacation. Thank you!
A lot of people don’t understand that drug addictions are basically a cry for help – a person’s way to self-medicate himself during a hard phase in his/her life – I learned that at Harbor Village and I find it to be completely true. If you are reading this, I hope you understand that it is not your fault – it was your circumstances and your way of dealing with them! I’m thankful to Harbor Village for their help and would recommend this facility to anyone who’s seeking help.
My daughter faced a lot of difficulties during her withdrawal. She had relapsed when she had received the treatment a year back. I had no idea that withdrawal could be so difficult for her. Harbor Village has an expert staff and made us realize that this happened because of physical and psychological weaknesses. They focused equally on medical and psychological treatment. And today my daughter is living an addiction free life.
I was there in January into February. I am 62 and disabled. Day one they had a wheelchair available. Day two they gave me a brand new one. They took care of all my wants and needs. They made sure I could participate in all outings. Staff was great. I had gone to another facility in Florida one year before. Only lasted 5 months sober. Now sober a little over 13 months. Thanks to all the staff for what it took to get it done. God bless you all. Special thanks to Chad for getting me there and checking on me. And Ralph for making everything go smoothly.
I had a very pleasant experience with the staff members at Harbor Village. Everyone from the therapists to the cook to the housekeeping staff was nice, welcoming, and energetic. There was this positive vibe at this facility that I think highly influenced my recovery in a positive way. I loved the food that was served 3 times a day. The outdoor mini-pool was my favorite spot. Group therapy sessions were also a great opportunity for me to develop and work on new skills. I don’t think there might be another facility that offers this much to their clients. Will recommend it a 100%.
I love harbor village detox they saved my life I spent 30 day there in October 2019. I’m 114 days clean. I recommend Christian track, I learned a lot from pastor. I love you Harbor Village family!
