The intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Harbor Village allows you to get back to your loved ones, professional life and hobbies, setting you on the course to lasting success and sobriety. The IOP program gives you the ability to test out independent living while still receiving comprehensive care and support. You’ll attend treatment at the facility during the day, then return home in the evenings. The intensive outpatient program gives you the opportunity to take the skills and tools you’ve learned about addiction and apply them to everyday living.
Intensive outpatient programs are designed to support your recovery when you’re ready to take the next step by returning home. We make sure you’re never alone for long. While you live at home, you’ll continue to visit Harbor Village three to five days out of the week for cognitive behavioral therapy, pharmacological therapy, family therapy, and life coaching.
Beyond the initial steps of recovery, you’ll continue to discover the underlying causes of addiction by working with compassionate addiction therapists.
Here’s how Harbor Village IOP helps you in your recovery:
Our outpatient program is furnished with inclusive 12-step programs, group therapy, and extracurricular activities, which may include community service work like restorative landscaping or working with rescue animals. The key to success in an outpatient context is to commit yourself to redefining your philosophies, activities and personal pursuits.
Intensive outpatient programs offer a balance, granting freedom while coupling drug and alcohol testing, medical assessments, and mandatory therapy sessions. You’ll participate in individual therapy, restorative group therapy, and holistic rehabilitation of the body and mind through meditation and yoga. Many choose to participate in 12-step programs like AA and NA, both independently and through the IOP.
Outpatient treatment is intended for those who have completed residential inpatient treatment and no longer require continual monitoring to address withdrawal symptoms. Also, those who are entering treatment for substance abuse (that is before full-blown addiction has taken hold) can benefit from intensive outpatient treatment.
The independent nature of our IOP isn’t for everyone, and may lead to relapse, delaying your recovery. Don’t rush your addiction treatment! Through your individualized recovery plan, our addiction counselors will place you in the program that’s suited for your situation and addiction.
Should you have a relapse in outpatient care, you can enroll in residential inpatient treatment care to re-establish your recovery plan. No matter what, we’re here to help you with solutions along the way.
If you feel like the intensive outpatient program at Harbor Village could be right for you, please give us a call! We welcome the chance to tell you more about our IOP — and how it can help you achieve lasting sobriety.
