According to reports from Yahoo News, Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter to music superstars Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, has passed at the tender age of 22. Brown was found in the bathtub of her home unconscious just six months ago and died at a hospice in Duluth, Georgia over the weekend.

The 22-year old suffered from a drug use problem following the death of her mother on February 12, 2012. Sources claim her death was linked to a drug overdose, which paralleled the death of her late mother in 2012. Houston was found in a Los Angeles hotel facedown in a bathtub from an apparent drug overdose. According to reports, Bobbi Kristina was unresponsive in her Atlanta, Georgia residence on January 31. Emergency crews were able to revive the 22-year-old , however she suffered significant brain damage, which resulted in her being placed into a medically induced coma.

The circumstances linked to Bobbi Kristina being found in the bathtub of her home unconscious were very similar to her mother’s, according to a final coroner’s report. Houston may have overdosed on drugs and alcohol leading up to her death, drug-related heart damage was also attributed as playing a role in her death. Back in February the media reported that police suspected Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, who claimed to have found Bobbi Kristina, may have played a role in her death.

According to reports Bobbi Kristina incurred unexplained injuries before she was found in the bathtub unresponsive, although there are claims of drug overdose, no criminal charges have been brought about.

Bobbi Kristina’s family developed a fear over her long-term health after she was transferred to the hospice in Duluth in June.  “Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, her condition has continued to deteriorate,” said Bobbi Kristina’s aunt in a statement during the time of the transition into hospice care, as quoted by Yahoo News.

Upon Bobbi Kristina’s death her family issued a statement, “She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.” The family also shared that Bobbi Kristina was surrounded by family and love in the days leading up to her death.
